Victor Margrie
1929-2022
My grandfather, Victor Margrie, was my inspiration to get into lino printing during my GCSE art coursework.
Throughout art school I continued to experiment with various print making techniques but always came back to lino. The texture of the ink, the subtractive nature of the image creation, and repeatability with subtle variation all captured my inspiration.
This print was based of a photograph I took of Victor on his 81st birthday at his home in Devon in 2010, and created in May 2020.
